Stories (part 1)

So...as some people know, my roommate and I, who used to be good friends, are no longer talking. There are many reasons that we are not talking, and I was not sure about whether or not to share them, but I figured I would possibly share a story or two a day.

Steen always said I was sort of over bearing when it came to the appearance of the apartment. Of course, now that we are not talking, he has decided to not do his dishes. Which is one reason we do not talk, I think he's lazy. He has had one pot and one plate in the sink for over a week that has never been washed. How lazy can you get? You can't spend five minutes (if that) to was a pot and a plate. It's not like he was at work all week.

Besides that, my girlfriend and I have come up with a new terminology when someone is lying, we call it Steening (since my roommates name is Steen). I figured I would tell a story about how it came to be and maybe I'll continue with stories all week.

So one day Steen came home with two 6-packs of this beer called Land Shark. Steen said that he had BOUGHT the beer for me, (bought was capitalized as that is important to this story) as the beer was his girlfriend's FAVORITE beer. I made a comment and a face, as I could tell by looking at it, that it was a Corona rip-off and I do not like Corona. He got EMO and was sad since he tries to buy me beer and I never like it. He got me some Danish beer, which I did sincerely appreciate as it was awesome to have a beer from another country. I started to feel bad though as he went out of his to way to think of me and BUY the beer for me.

After I started to do some thinking, I realized how much Steen talked about how his girlfriend does not drink. So my question to Steen was, "How can it be your girlfriend's favorite, if she doesn't drink?" He ended up telling me that he actually got it for FREE as it was extra beer from the Traverse City Film Festival. So he lied about buying the beer as it was free. He lied about it being he girlfriend's favorite as she doesn't drink. I felt a little bit bad also for thrashing a beer I thought he bought.

Granted, this might be minor to some, but it just is part of the lies I have lived with all summer. I plan on sharing more stories as one guy at work wanted to hear them.

Math

I feel like seeing how many people can do math.

Rent - $725
Cable - $40
Internet - $40
Total - $805

Seems easy enough. Split with a roommate, the total becomes $402.50. Whoo!! I know that may have been tough for some, but stick with me, it gets trickier. Ok, so let's say that your roommate doesn't want/need cable any more, but you still do. So you take on the whole cable bill. What is yours and your rommates bill now?

Now I calculated it to be:

$402.50 + $20 = $422.50.

The $20 comes from his 1/2 of the cable bill.

So now what would his bill be? $402.50 - $20 = $382.50.

So when your rommate bitches at you for paying the "full" amount to the leasing office, including cable, even though he is not using it and threatens to tell the leasing office to cut off the cable, who is the dumbass? I do not believe it is me, but I might be wrong. It is not my fault that he could not subtract $20 from what he used to pay for rent to take care of the cable that he am not using.

This is a test using Windows Live Writer. I was just curious to see how this works. I'm going to insert a picture.

Good waste of time!

For those that do not know, I live in Michigan. We have a stupid governor who is just digging our economy deeper and deeper into a whole. More and more people are leaving, and she takes all these "trips" to bring in jobs. She has failed on some of these "trips" and the jobs have went to states like Ohio and Kentucky.

Now she is moving our primary date. She thinks it will be good for Michigan to be first in the primaries. I wonder if when deciding to choose dates if she read when the DNC and RNC have rules stipulating the dates of primaries. If she had read the rules, she would have realized that we are now first, but we are in violation of the parties rules on primary dates.

What sense does this make? Why even waste the time worrying about the date?
